STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART: The negative side of pride.
Society seemingly keeps a watchful eye on its young people and reports on how they behave but society's watchdog offering this reflection, namely the media, offers coverage of young people which appears to have a negative bias which creates a false reality in the eyes of those who might be susceptible to fear young people, hence the divide between the generations gets wider.

Pride is an emotional state deriving positive affect from the perceived value of a person or thing with which the subject has an intimate connection. It may be inwardly or outwardly directed. With a negative connotation pride refers to a foolishly and irrationally corrupt sense of one's personal value, status or accomplishments, used synonymously with hubris.
This aspect of Pride is the warm sense that make you feel proud of being part of that something that make you feel special; this is good pride (Orgullo). On the other hand, we have the capital sin. This kind of pride could take you to places that you might not go, and could keep you from enter to those other places that might be advantageous for you to experience.
This also represents Priestley’s view that men who go after an endless pursuit of wealth not only has a negative effect on society as a whole but also those most closest to them. However, it is the latter sinful meaning of pride which most frequently appears in the Bible, both in the OT and the NT. The first negative impact is to put patient’s life in danger. With short-staff, best nursing practices and high quality care seems unrealistic because workload is too much on staff. Hence, nurses unable to give proper attention towards their patients which increase the risk of medical errors such as: medication errors, falls, pressure sores, and hospital acquire diseases and infections.
